3 Cauldrons

Celtic divination through movement

April 16 @ 8:30 pm 10:00 pm

In pagan Irish society, the Filid (poets) held near-divine status. Through their words, they channelled divine inspiration, prophecy, or clairvoyance, and like spells cast their satire could topple rulers. The Cauldron of Poesy is a cryptic early Irish text dating to the 8th century, which outlines the conditions necessary for cultivating this creative inspiration, using an allegory of 3 cauldrons. In this workshop, we’ll journey together through a gentle improvised movement practice to explore each of the cauldrons.

Míntírigh translates to reclaim. Drawing inspiration from the Mná Feasa (‘Knowing Women’/Seers), Miriam creatively combines insights from their studies of Celtic heritage, paganism, expressionist movement studies and somatics, to hold explorative journeys for individual and communal release.
